Overview:

Prunus Africana is originated from African countries, it belongs to rosaceous arbor. It is rich in sterols and triterpenoid compounds. The regular specs of Pygeum bark extract is 13% total phytosterols, which is a total substance including stigmasterol, beta-sisterol, brassicasterol, and cholesterol.   

 As early as 18th Century, the local people has started to use prunus africana as a folk medicine, it is widely used to treat male prostate disease, it is said to have remarkable effect, but it hasn’t been widely recognized in medical community. In recent years, European scholars work on the clinical research on its medicinal value, and confirmed its scientific mechanism of prevention & treatment of the related symptons of prostatic hyperplasia, the research result has been published in magazine Journal of Urology. 

Function and usage:

1.Pygeum bark extract can inhibit the growth of human fibroblasts and slow down the production of epidermal growth factor, thus is beneficial for prostate diseases. 

2.Pygeum bark extract can reduce the excessive prostagland, reduce the cholesterol deposited in the prostate, improve the fragility of of capillaries and venous function, also it is diuretic and anti-edema, which can greatly improve the male prostate and sexual organ diseases.

3.Growth factor inhibitors have the dual effects of acting on prostate and bladder, it can effectively inhibit the proliferation of fibro tissue in the prostate. Also it improves the elasticity of bladder wall and protect the bladder.
