Cistanche Extract

Overview:

Cistanche is a parasitic plant growing at the roots of Haloxylon ammodendron (C. A. Mey.) Bunge which is a kind of desert tree. It absorbs nutrients and water from Haloxylon ammodendron (C. A. Mey.) Bunge. Known as "desert ginseng", it has a high medicinal value and is a valuable traditional Chinese medicinal herb. Cistanche has been regarded as one of articles of tribute by western countries in history. It is also one of the most frequently used tonics in kidney and aphrodisiac prescriptions.

Cistanche tubulosa produced in Xinjiang is commonly used to extract it. Cistanche tubulosa has high content of active ingredients due to low sugar content. 100 g fresh echinacoside and verbascoside (acteoside) generally contain 1.5g-4g extract.

Composition: echinacoside and verbascoside are the main effective ingredients.

Efficacy overview:

1. Based on the modern scientific research, Cistanche can play a role similar to testosterone and promote sexual desire and ability. It can stimulate sperm production and semen secretion, and promote sexual desire by filling the seminal vesicles. It can also strengthen the body function. This herb inhibits gonadotropin (hormone-like) effects without any effect on the normal balance of testosterone in the body. According to the traditional Chinese medicinal knowledge, it can be used as an aphrodisiac and also for impotence treatment. Cistanche has also shown its effect on premature ejaculation. Cistanche helps the regulation of the neuroendocrine system for the male reproductive system to maintain normal hormonal balance and thus help other herbs work.

2. The water-soluble components of Cistanche extract have been shown to enhance immune function in the body fluids and cells of mice and can increase the weight of spleen and thymus of mice, as well as the lymphocyte turnover rate. Cistanche also has the anti-aging effect, which can significantly increase the oxide dismutase activity of red blood cells in mice.

3. Cistanche is often used as laxative to treat constipation caused by dry intestinal tract.
